Enhanced Gateway with Analog Devices
2.4 Deploying the Device (Topology)
The procedures described in this document describe how to deploy the device in the
following example scenario:
The enterprise deploys Lync Server in its private network for enhanced
communication within the enterprise.
The enterprise requests to offer its employees enterprise voice capabilities and to
connect the enterprise to the PSTN network using an E1/T1 service.
The enterprise requests to connect Analog devices that interact with Lync Server for
Management, Monitoring, and Security.
Analog Devices are configured using the Lync Server Management Shell.
The AudioCodes solution offers a single device that consists of the following entities:
• The Gateway entity used to manage the connection between the Lync Server and
the E1/T1 trunk.
• The SBC entity used to manage the connection between the Lync Server and the
Analog Devices via ATA (SBC entity acts as their gateway to the Lync Server):
♦ Each entity communicates separately with Lync Server 2013
♦ Each entity is configured as a PSTN gateway on the Lync topology builder
(two Trunks are also created, one for the Gateway entity and one for the
SBC entity).
The figure below illustrates the device entities interworking with PSTN, Lync Server 2013
and ATA:
